Article number: SEMANTICA047
Semantica continue their prolific run of form with this release from the hitherto unknown Gkahn. Occupying the lighter end of the label's spectrum, the producer's music is a strange hybrid of Drexciyan squelch and "Poet 1" places billowing pitch bent chords on top of warm cushions of bass, while "Poet 2" utilises similarly warm Detroit moods and subtle synth melodies, creating something that wouldn't be out of place on one of Kompakt's better Total compilations. On the flip "Poet #3" takes a mid-tempo groove, subtle elastic bass and rippling percussion to create a skewed take on acid, while "Weird And Radical" which closes the EP is a total departure - a driving techno bomb with furious filtered bassline and gritty lo-fi percussion.
